Please join us on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017 as we celebrate 60 years of community involvement in Lincoln Park, Chicago.

To help commemorate this special occasion, we are hosting a tandem presentation by Susan Benjamin and Ward Miller, during our Annual Meeting, showcasing the wonderful and rich architecture within our Communities limits.

Susan, an Architectural Historian, will present the history & architecture of Lakeview Avenue and Roslyn Historic Homes. 

Ward, of Preservation Chicago, will present the Deming Historic District, & Second Christ Church Scientist.  

Together they will discuss the Adler Lakeview homes, review the landmark process and the how our neighborhood benefits from our rich architectural history. 

In addition, we have a special guests from Open House Chicago– Eric Rogers, who will be presenting a teaser to their October 14-15th event!

MORE ON THE PRESENTERS

SUSAN S. BENJAMIN is an architectural historian with a career that spans over 30 years in a broad variety of preservation activities. Benjamin practices as Benjamin Historic Certifications, LLC.  She and her associates have written more National Register nominations than any other firm in Illinois.  They have completed numerous local landmark nominations for homes designed in a variety of architectural styles throughout the Chicago area. Benjamin also obtains property tax assessment freezes for homeowners throughout the metropolitan area.

 WARD MILLER is Executive Director at Preservation Chicago, a local non-profit that aims to protect architecturally significant structures and neighborhoods across the city, and is a founding board member of the group. In 2003, he became executive director of the Richard Nickel Committee, which curated architectural photos taken by Nickel. Miller comes from a background of architectural focus. He began his career with Vinci-Hamp Architects, Inc. and worked as a designer, architect, and project manager for 20 years. Miller even co-authored a book with architect John Vinci, The Complete Architecture of Adler & Sullivan in 2010, an award-winning book that Nickel and his collaborators began years before.
