Prentice Women’s Hospital

Prentice Women’s Hospital was groundbreaking for its cutting-edge cantilevered concrete design, advanced engineering and its progressive plan for the organization of medical departments and services. This amazing masterwork was demolished in 2014 after a hard fought preservation battle to save it. Prentice, designed by Chicago architect Bertrand Goldberg and completed in 1975, was a Preservation Chicago’s 7 Most Endangered in 2010 and 2013 again this year.
